Introduction to Green Key

This course will provide you with an introduction to the Green Key programme, the international voluntary eco-certificate run by the Foundation for Enviromental Education. You will learn about the history, the certification process, the criteria and the many benefits of being a Green Key certified establishment.

Basics of Sustainability in Tourism & Hospitality

Sustainability is not only a growing social issue, but consumers are becoming more aware of sustainable practices in tourism establishments. As the awareness to make sustainable travel choices increases, it is important for all stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industry to understand the realms of sustainable tourism.

Against this background, this "Basics of Sustainability in Tourism and Hospitality course", has been designed to give you fundamental understanding of sustainability in the tourism and hospitality industry. Most sessions will additionally equip each student with practical knowledge about sustainable practices to be implemented in a tourism or hospitality establishment. 

Time Required: 3-4 Hours

Target Group: Students, Teachers within the tourism and hospitality industry.

Please note that this course is only available for students and educators associated with hospitality schools. To receive the enrolment key, please email claudia@fee.global and include the name of the hospitality school you’re associated with.

Green Key Auditor Certification Course

Green Key Auditor Certification Course

This course is designed for third-party auditors from certification bodies who would like to become certified auditors for the Green Key programme.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be qualified to conduct on-site audits at Green Key establishments located in countries without a national Green Key office.

Time Required: 3-4 Hours

Implementing Sustainability in Your Tourism and Hospitality Establishment

Implementing Sustainability in Your Tourism and Hospitality Establishment

This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of sustainability in the hospitality industry, providing an overview of its impact on the environment, local communities, and business performance. The course, designed for all staff of tourism establishments across various departments, will explore key sustainability challenges in areas such as waste management, food & beverage, energy consumption, cleaning practices, and water usage. You will also learn effective strategies to engage colleagues, guests, suppliers, and local communities in sustainability efforts. Additionally, the course will guide you through the essential tools needed to develop a sustainability action plan for a tourism establishment.

Time Required: 3-4 Hours

Target Group: All hotel staff, including management and departments such as housekeeping, food service, maintenance/engineering, front office, and concierge.
