This could be a mayor, headteacher, campus leader, beach manager, hotel manager, marina manager, food grower, chef, ranger, scientist, community elder, youth counsellor, tourism operator, restoration expert, artist, or youth representative. The purpose is simple: bring people together, build awareness of pollinators, the relationships that allow them to thrive, and the challenges they face. Secure at least one public commitment to protect a living connection in the community. You can choose any locally relevant action or combine several actions where practical.

They can include pollen moved by insects, birds, bats, wind, or water; seeds moved by animals, wind, water, or people; spores moved by air or water; water carrying life from land to sea; stories and knowledge carried through generations; and ideas spreading through communities. Uncover an invisible pathway that keeps life, knowledge, or stories moving through your community. Use observations, old photographs, maps, artwork, literature, records, or community stories to investigate the pathway and the relationships that make it possible.

Choose one everyday item, ingredient, place, practice or habitat and reveal the living connections that make it possible. This could involve pollination, seed dispersal, spore movement, water movement, food systems, cultural knowledge, or human action. Consider how you can support these living connections? Investigate who has fair access to pollinator-rich, healthy, safe, and biodiverse green and blue places, and who does not. Consider who benefits from and who cares for these living places, then make one public ask for change. Look beyond the obvious: pollination is not only a land-based story.
