How to run a national campaign for the FEE Education Awards?

These quick steps can assist you as a national operator to set up a national campaign to outreach, disseminate and encourage national entries to the FEE Education Awards

  • Set the frame: confirm dates, eligibility, intake method (max 5 submissions per school).

  • Publish the call: share application details and translated forms if helpful.

  • Select entries: check files, convene jury, choose up to 5 winners.

  • Celebrate: announce winners, optional webinar, issue certificates.

  • Prepare for FEE: translate if needed, upload winners.

    • International submission deadline Lesson Plan Competition: Friday, 30 April 2027

Eligibility

To be eligible for the FEE Teacher Award, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The teacher must have been involved in one of FEE’s education programmes (Eco-Campus, Eco-Schools, LEAF, YRE) for at least three years.

  • The institution where the teacher works must currently hold a Green Flag or have produced a YRE Competition finalist or winner at the national level within the past two years.

Prepare the Application

Before submitting the application to FEE Head Office make sure you, as a national operator, have the received the following information from your national entries:

  • Fully answered the FEE Teacher Award Application form. Accounts for 60% of the final score.

  • Support letter from school stakeholders (it can be a parent, staff member, school leader, colleague, or student). The letter must explain why and how they think the teacher made a difference in the school (max 400 words in English). Accounts for 15% of the final score. 

  • Landscape 3-minute video illustrating the teacher’s educational practice implementing one of the FEE programmes. Accounts for 25% of the final score. The video should be a short pitch that summarises and complements your written application by illustrating: 

    • how you create meaningful learning experiences;  

    • how students participate, make decisions and shape the learning process;  

    • how your educational practices reflect the values and methodology of your FEE programme. 

    • Find here two examples from previous years that you can watch for inspiration: Video 1, Video 2. 

    • Logistical details: the video does not need to be professionally produced. A simple video recorded horizontally on a mobile phone is perfectly suitable. Please check whether it has English subtitles if speaking another language.

Eligibility

  • The submitted lesson plan suits this year’s theme Water Explorers, and the lesson plan incorporates and tests activities from our new the Water Explorers Education Guide, developed in collaboration with Sow my Dream, the educational programme of Dona Bertarelli Philanthropy.

  • The educator is involved in a FEE educational programme (Eco-Campus, Eco-Schools, LEAF, YRE).
