Litter Less with Young Reporters for the Environment

Running the Litter Less Campaign through the Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) programme gives students the opportunity to conduct in-depth investigations on litter and waste issues in their school or community. By using the YRE 4-Step Methodology, students can investigate, research, report and raise awareness about a litter issue that’s important to them. As part of this process, students write articles, create photographs and produce videos that are then shared within their school and community.

The YRE programme is not limited to individual students, however. Schools that run the Litter Less Campaign through the YRE programme organize Community Actions Days, run awareness-raising campaigns at school, engage local leaders in discussions around litter and waste in the community, and develop action plans to tackle local litter and waste problems.
