Acting Against Pollution
January - December 2023
In 2021, we released our new 10-year strategic plan, called ‘GAIA 20:30’, with three critical goals in mind; to empower climate action, reduce environmental pollution and protect global biodiversity. And we’re making progress! Through our five sustainability programmes and the incredible work of our 103 members around the world, we’ve seen great progress from the global FEE network. But to truly achieve the ambitious goals set in our strategy, and meet the even greater goal of keeping global warming below 1.5 degrees, we will need everyone’s support.
This is why we’re excited to introduce our second global awareness campaign – Litter Less Plus!
The theme? Pollution! Our goal? To reduce it of course!
More specifically, we want to focus on reducing litter, waste and invisible pollutants by encouraging more responsible consumption (and production) of things and taking a more circular approach (this is a circular economy approach) to the way our homes, schools, businesses and communities work.
But how do you plan on doing that?!
As with the GAIA 20:30 Biodiversity Campaign in 2021-22, we’ve prepared several webinars, activities, resources and more for this year’s Litter Less Plus campaign. You’ll find everything you need to know on the webpages on the left.
And just like with the GAIA 20:30 Biodiversity Campaign EVERYONE is invited!
Who is ‘everyone’?!
We know – the FEE network is pretty big! There are students, teachers, and parents, as well as people from the sustainable tourism industry running hotels, beaches and marinas, not to mention the businesses, municipalities and NGOs that help make everything happen.
We’ve planned several different activities over the year so there’s something there for everyone. You can choose to participate in everything, or just those activities you find most interesting.
All the activities are an opportunity to learn more about or take action to reduce environmental pollution!
