FEE x Running Out of Time
In partnership with The World Relay, we are proud to support Running Out of Time; a 7,200 km, 38-day relay race, crossing 18 countries from Glasgow to Sharm el-Sheikh - host of the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference (COP27).
Running Out of Time is world’s longest ever non-stop relay to take place in the name of climate action!
At the heart of this action is the call for mandatory, quality climate change education to be incorporated in all national education curricula. This message will be carried by runners in the relay baton from Glasgow (host of COP26) and presented to decision makers at COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh.
As part of the global FEE network, we’d like to invite you to take part in this initiative. It’s an the opportunity for your voices and those of young people globally to be heard at COP27, and chance to take part in a truly unique and unforgettable action for our planet. Please join us!
HOW TO GET INVOLVED?
1. Register to run a stage of the relay!
Do you live* along the route and love to run? You can sign-up to run a 10 km stage of the relay and help deliver the message to Sharm el-Sheikh!
Don’t want to run alone? Up to 25 people can sign up for a stage of the race, so bring along your friends and family!
*If you don’t live along the route, we’d love to have you join us on November 5th for a global Virtual Relay Day!
2. Join the global Schools Action Day from anywhere in the world!
On 3rd November* join thousands of schools across the world in our Global Schools Action Day!
We’re asking students and their teachers to get active for 15 minutes. This can be at
any time of the day, in any way you like - the more creative the better!
Run, walk, bounce or roll... We don’t mind how you do it - it’s the taking part that counts! To help you get going on the day we’ll provide schools with an educational package including lesson plans, a toolkit and more.
*If you can’t make this date don’t worry, take part on any day that works for you!
3. By engaging your community!
We’re calling on decision makers at COP27 to address the concerns that young people have about climate change, and to take action to ensure that all youth, in all countries, are empowered through quality climate change education.

4. By being a Young Reporter on the route!
The Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) is looking for students who are interested in reporting on Running Out of Time (ROoT) before, during and after the event.
The selected YRE students are expected to report on specific topics related to different aspects of Climate Change by attending events along the route, meetings, and sessions and conducting interviews with delegates, participants and speakers.
