Activities - Global Action Days 2026
Through these 5 activities, Global Action Days 2026 will aim mobilise 1 million people across 150+ countries bringing global attention to the critical link between climate change and access to safe, nutritious and sustainable food.
Want to help make an even greater impact? To help motivate and inspire others to take action, after completing each activity we ask you to share photos and comments online by tagging FEE on Social Media - either on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn.
This year we have two dedicated Global Action Days’ socials channels: a GAD Facebook group or Global Action Days Instagram.
The GAD (Global Action Days) activities below can be carried out in any order between 22nd April and 6th May 2026. We suggest 2-3 days spent per Activity including the weekend.

Activity guide coming soon…
Discover the colours of sustainability and the joy of fresh, seasonal food! In this activity, you are invited to create your own multicoloured meal palette that celebrates the power of nutritious, local ingredients. Explore how a plate full of naturally, colourful food not only nourishes your body but also supports the health of our planet. Use your imagination to design a balanced vibrant meal that highlights seasonal produce and traditional foods from your region. Whether you draw, make, or photograph your plate, let your creation show how every bite can make a difference.
Shine a spotlight on the humble heroes of healthy, sustainable eating! In this activity, you are invited to design or prepare delicious dishes that feature legumes and small grains. From lentils and chickpeas to oats and barley, these ingredients are packed with nutrition and have a low impact on the planet. Get creative by giving your meal an inspiring, modern name that makes plant-based choices exciting and appealing. You can even reimagine a familiar favourite by transforming an everyday recipe into a fresh, irresistible classic that everyone will want to try.
Celebrate the stories and traditions that bring us together around the table. In this activity, families are encouraged to spend relaxing time cooking a meal that carries meaning across generations. Choose a cherished recipe that has been passed down or reflects your cultural heritage and prepare it together, using fresh or traditional preserved local ingredients. Explore how you can make the most of what you already have at home by including leftovers, reducing waste, and discovering creative ways to reinvent familiar dishes. As you cook or bake together, remember to take time to share memories, learn new skills, and enjoy the simple pleasure of gathering around good food and good conversation.
Discover how every meal connects us to people, places, and the planet. In this activity, you are invited to explore the journey of your food from its origins to your plate. Choose a meal you enjoy and create a large, illustrated map or fresco showing where each ingredient comes from and how it travelled to you. Reflect on the carbon footprint and resources involved in bringing food to your table and consider how small choices, like choosing local and seasonal products, can help protect our shared environment.
Help people make choices that are good for their health and the planet. In this activity, you are invited to create an awareness campaign that shows how clear, honest labelling can inspire sustainable eating habits. Choose a healthy, environmentally friendly product, like a seasonal vegetable box and design packaging that shares its story. Include important details about nutrition, where the ingredients come from, and why the product is a better choice for people and nature. Use tools like Nutri-Score, Traffic Light Labels, Guideline Daily Amounts or other front-of-pack symbols, to help everyone understand what’s inside!
