The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is proud to be identified as one of ten organisations excelling at educating young people around the world in the new book Building Bridges to the Future: Global Case Studies of Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century. The publication is the result of years of research from Connie K. Chung, former Associate Director of Harvard Graduate School of Education's Global Education Innovation Initiative, and several other academic professionals in the education field. The book explores the need for educational practices to be adapted to a rapidly changing world, using FEE and the other featured organisations as best practice examples.

The organisations included in the case studies were chosen because of their innovative and effective approaches to preparing young people to meet the challenges of an increasingly globalised world. All of the featured organisations meet some key criteria, notably the adaptability of their programmes to local contexts, a recognition of the importance of global partnerships, a focus on capacity building and continued learning, and a vision that looks to the future and empowers young people to work for the changes they want to see in the world.
